Students, alumni, parents, and friends who know Choate well consistently describe the school’s faculty as its most outstanding strength. Determined never to take this exceptional group of educators for granted, Choate stands committed to maintain its compensation and benefits packages at competitive levels and, just as important, to expand the professional development opportunities it affords. These range from funding teachers' attendance at seminars and conferences to supporting them in completing advanced degrees and taking sabbatical leaves.
By augmenting salaries, Choate will position itself to continue attracting and retaining the most able teachers—those most aggressively recruited by other schools as well. By enhancing its professional development opportunities, Choate will both strengthen its allure among these candidates and also increase the direct benefit these programs bring to the educational experience of Choate’s students.
